Fried rice exists almost everywhere. China has it. Japan has it. Many other countries have their own versions too.

But Thai fried rice has its own personality. It is familiar, comforting, and easy to enjoy, yet still full of flavor.
At Bangkok Cafe, our fried rice is inspired by Thai-style cooking, with thoughtful adjustments so it tastes clean, balanced, and works well for takeout.
How Thai Fried Rice Is Different from Other Styles
Chinese fried rice usually focuses on texture and light seasoning. Soy sauce, egg, scallions, and wok heat do most of the work.
Japanese fried rice is more delicate and mild. The flavors are subtle, and the goal is balance rather than boldness.
Western-style fried rice often feels heavier. Sometimes buttery, sometimes rich, and often closer to a full skillet meal.
Thai fried rice sits right in the middle.
It is savory but not salty, aromatic but not overpowering, and flexible enough to adjust for spice and protein. It is meant to be comforting, not complicated.
How We Make Fried Rice at Bangkok Cafe

Our fried rice starts with Thai jasmine rice, cooked so it stays fluffy and separate. Every order is stir-fried fresh.
Each plate includes:
Jasmine rice
Egg
Peas and carrots
Onion, scallion, and tomatoes
One important difference from many Thai fried rice recipes is this.
We do not use fish sauce in our fried rice.
We do this on purpose. Without fish sauce, the flavor stays lighter and cleaner. It makes the dish more approachable, especially for guests who are new to Thai food. It also helps the fried rice travel better for takeout and delivery without becoming too strong.
Choose Your Protein
Fried rice should fit your taste. That is why we offer many protein options:
Chicken
Pork
Beef
Chicken, pork, and beef together
Shrimp
Seafood
Fried tofu
Steamed tofu
Veggie
Everything is cooked fresh and mixed evenly so each bite tastes balanced.
Spice Level Is Always Your Choice
Some people want fried rice mild. Others want serious heat. We let you decide.
You can choose from:
Not spicy
Level 1 less spicy
Level 2 medium spicy
Level 3 American hot
Level 4 Thai hot
Level 5 extremely hot
Level 6 911 hot
How Our Fried Rice Differs from Street-Style in Thailand
In Thailand, fried rice is often cooked very fast over extremely high heat and sometimes seasoned more aggressively.
At Bangkok Cafe, we adjust the style slightly:
Balanced seasoning so flavors stay clear
Less oil so it feels lighter
Consistent ingredients and portions every time
The goal is simple.
Thai-style fried rice that is satisfying, flexible, and reliable, especially for takeout.
One More Thing
Oh, and one more thing before you go.
We also have Crab Fried Rice on the menu. It is a little different from our regular fried rice, with its own character and flavor.
We will save that story for next time.
